Abstract
CABRERA-GOMEZ, Jesús; PALOMINO-MARIN, Evelio and FERRERAS-CUEVAS, Franklin. Cause assesment of fuel overconsuming in a steel reheating furnace for lamination. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2018, vol.21, n.1, pp.45-51. ISSN 1815-5944.
The paper shows the results of a study developed with the main objective of identify the possible causes of observed fuel over consuming in a steel reheating furnace used for supplying heated steel to a rolling mill for lamination processes. Several of these causes were identified from direct observing and the determination of parameters such as the real calorific power of used fuel, the air/fuel relationship and the composition of combustion gases in the furnace. The Failure Mode and Effect Analysis and the Root Cause Analysis studies were also applied. As the main cause of fuel overconsuming was identified the excess of air in combustion
