VIEGO-ARIET, Néstor et al. Methodology to quantify human error probability during aircraft maintenance. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2024, vol.27, n.3, pp. 1-10. Epub 24-Mar-2025. ISSN 1815-5944.
In the research a methodology to evaluate Human Reliability during aircraft’s maintenance using a mathematical model to quantify human error probability in a complex technical system is described. The proposal includes three stages and is based on the principles of Technology for the Ergonomic Treatment of Human Error, combined with the Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction and Human Error Assessment & Reduction Technique. Event Tree is used to determine the effect of human error on the system or process, and ergonomic evaluations with the aim of identifying performance shaping factors. As a case study, the methodology was applied to a general visual inspection process on aircraft´s structural parts in order to assess its usefulness. As conclusion, with the methodology designed is possible to identify human errors, evaluate them and propose solutions for safety management, improving decision making during the aircraft´s maintenance.
