The third improvement of Higher Education draws as one of the main aspirations, to train graduates who possess personal qualities, culture and professional skills. The objective of this article is: to base a pedagogical conception of the process of development of the pedagogical professional abilities of the students of the career Marxism Leninism and History of the University of Pinar del Río. A pedagogical investigation is developed, assuming the materialist dialectic as a scientific methodological base, which allows the determination of a system of theoretical methods, among them: logical methods such as modeling, systemic and functional structural and the procedures that make up the method: the analysis and the synthesis, the induction and the deduction. The selected population was 135 students of the day course and 20 teachers of the specialty. The result of the research is expressed in conceiving a pedagogical conception of the process of development of pedagogical professional skills, which has as components: principles, scientific ideas, stages and relationships. Raising as conclusions: the systemic character, integral and coherent with the way of professional performance of the proposed conception; sustained in the professional problems as an articulating axis of the academic, labor, investigative and extensionist activity; which takes place in stages from the functional dynamics between the logic of science and the logic of the profession.
