The current paper is the continuation of "Dynamic of the workforce in Cuba 1846-1931" (II) and it is an analysis of the information registered in the official censuses undertaken between 1846 and 1931, concerning the qualified workforce: professionals and technicians. That way it is demonstrated how scarce was their presence in the occupational structure, as a reflection of the low socioeconomic development of the country.
