Resumen
ALBIZU-CAMPOS ESPINEIRA, Juan Carlos. A framework for the study of mortality in Cuba. Rev Nov Pob [online]. 2015, vol.11, n.21, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1817-4078.
Taking into account the peculiarities of the process of mortality transition followed by Cuban population and the existing conceptions about what can be considered as proximate determinants of mortality, a theoretical framework is offered as a contribution to explain the changes experienced by the survival capacity of Cuban population in the light of the social and economic conditions that were in the origin of such changes. This proposition has the intention that the framework could constitute an analytical support for the studies of mortality which are being carried out in present days in the country. This model of the proximate determinants of the mortality in Cuba also gain first-order importance in the view of the current socio-economic scenario in which the population is inserted today.
