The current research presents the demographic dynamism of the municipality of Placetas, regarding the three main variables: fertility, mortality and migration. Due to its importance, population growing and aging data were used as well, since the figures from the aging indicator in the municipality are among the highest in the country. The purpose of this material is to reach and support the municipalities’ administrations, in order to carry out short, medium and long-term strategies, in the economic and sociocultural life of the territory. It is necessary to focus always on the population and the problems that may affect its quality of life while implementing these strategies. Furthermore, this research attempts to establish certain demographic tendencies of the population of Placetas, functioning as a diagnose to further think in the elements that are qualitatively influencing on this dynamism and what can be done to reduce its impact, and work to modify it in the future.
