A descriptive observational study of quantitative and transversal character was carried out, in the period between January - March of 2012. The subjects were pregnant adolescents from the districts 1 and 2 in the municipality of Campechuela. The objective was characterizing these adolescents from the psychosocial point of view. The universe was composed of 50 pregnant adolescents. The sample comprised 25 pregnant adolescents selected randomly. The subjects were asked to fill out a questionnaire of seventeen questions about the following variables: age, schooling, occupation and marital status, factors related to the family environment, the adolescents' opinion about their communication with their parents, friends with risky behavior, knowledge related to pregnancy, sexual behavior and reasons to continue the pregnancy. The self-esteem inventory designed by Stanley Coopersmith was also used. The data were analyzed by means of absolute numbers and percentages. The results were presented summarized in charts. In the study, the adolescents under 17 years of age prevailed. The interviews gathered a group of factors in the family environment that places them at risk. They also have friends with risky behavior. Most of the adolescents have a low level of knowledge, a risky sexual behavior, and they did not want to be pregnant.
