Environmental protection is a priority for the government of the in Cuba, which has been inserted into what prevails on the international scene today and has supported the relationship between the population, the territory and the environment. Cuban environmental policy is develops on the basis of the main environmental problems that presents the country, as well as what the level of development has demanded socioeconomic reached. This policy has also been cemented in the impacts that plans and development programs can generate on the environment and has, among its fundamental objectives, achieve sustainable and sustainable development. That is why it is executed through an integral work of the instruments of the environmental management identified in the National Environmental Strategy. This strategy establishes the appropriate regulations for protection and care for the environment, however some of them are ignored in specific cases of priority development activities Economic of the country. Also in Cuba there have been difficulties that have prevented some of the policies from being implemented successfully stipulated environmental strategies, due to the low perception of risk of much of the population.
