The analysis evaluates the group settlements with function of Intermediate Centers proposed in the model of structuring of the system of human settlements, of the National Scheme of Territorial Ordering, attending 16 indicators contained in four dimensions: Social, Economic, Environmental and Institutional.

Processing and the calculation of an index of development for each dimension and other general one, allowed establishing 5 different groups.

Results contribute to the adoption of specific policies, to attaining the harmonic functioning of the system of human settlements, and to promote the sustainable development of these and of the territories in its hinterland.
