With the characteristic of more than 40 years of fertility below the replacement in Cuba, it is considered pertinent to know to what extent certain elements, such as the postponement of fertility, affect its level in the period1999-2016. The article is an application of the Bongaarts and Feeney model for this period, with the aim of investigating one of the aspects that can cause fertility decline.
