Demographic aging is a concerning phenomenon in world scenario. For society, this means changing cultural perception of the elder, and for this one, to raise skills. In our country, it takes high rates. Villa Clara province has the oldest population, and in it, Placetas municipality is the most aged as well, and the second of the country with the highest aging rates; that is why the treatment of the elder, topic of interest from an ethic point of view, turns out to be one of the social priorities nowadays.

This work is aimed in determining the prevalent bioethical tendencies in the treatment of the elder´s families in Placetas, for transforming the relationship with this age group. Several methods were applied like documentary analysis, semi-standardized and non-standardized interviews and observation. Results confirmed the prevalence of a personalistic approach and the ethic of care; although, with an assistant bias which diminish the active role of elderlies in their routine; besides declaring the boom of the utilitarian tendency. The study is a contribution from local university, helping in the work being done by some institutions in which their social purpose is included family care and mainly elders´ care; at the same time, it may contribute to enhance consciousness and preparation of family members and assistants, with respect to the need of symmetric bonds in their relation with elders, taking into account the levels of assistance this age eventually needs.
