Ankylosing spondylitis belongs to the spondyloarthropathy group. It is a heterogeneous group of interrelated rather than a single disease with different clinical conditions. Spondyloarthropathies generally debut in the second decade of life, about 80% of patients develop the first symptoms before age 30, and less than 5 % of patients the symptoms begin after age 45. Male patient of 76 years with neurological symptoms secondary to ankylosing spondylitis occurs.
