BONIFAZ ARANDA, Angela Gabriela e DELGADO MASACHE, Gabriela Alejandra. Comparative analysis of the technique of prolonged slow expiration vs autogenic drainage in children under 5 years of age with bronchitis. Rev Cuba Reumatol [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.4 Epub 01-Dez-2023. ISSN 1817-5996.
Bronchitis is a frequent pathology in children under 5 years of age with different etiology and pathophysiology. The incidence is higher in winter periods. The main symptoms are hypersecretion and cough. Respiratory physiotherapy, and in particular the respiratory drainage techniques prolonged slow expiration and autonomous drainage, are oriented towards the mobilization and elimination of excess secretions produced. The objective of this research is to compare the technique of prolonged slow expiration vs autogenic drainage in children under 5 years of age with bronchitis. For this, a basic, descriptive and cross-sectional investigation was carried out consisting of a bibliographic review that included as a study sample a total of 22 documents published in Google Scholar and in the Scielo, Latindex, Redalyc databases. The main contributions are: the characteristics of the techniques in children with bronchitis and the comparison between them. In conclusion, it is stated that both respiratory drainage techniques can be used in the physiotherapeutic management of bronchitis in children under 5 years of age to mobilize and eliminate secretions from the middle and distal airways to the proximal ones that are produced during the course of the pathology. However, the choice will depend on factors that include the patient's clinical picture and the preferences of the affected professional and patient.
