PUERTAS MORA, Bertha Marisol  e  FREIRE RODRIGUEZ, Jessenia Elizabeth. Benefits of early stimulation in the psychomotor development of children under 2 years of age. Rev Cuba Reumatol [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.4  Epub 01-Abr-2024. ISSN 1817-5996.

Early stimulation enables the orientation of the potential and capacities of children and prepares them to interact with the context in which they develop. This study presents the results of a systematic review on the benefits of TE in psychomotor development in the first two years of life. The needs, abilities and skills related to motor development at this stage are described. The stated objective was to describe the benefits that early stimulation provides in order to achieve the skills and abilities necessary to obtain an adequate psychomotor development in children under 2 years of age. A basic, non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional and documentary research was carried out consisting of a bibliographic review in which 23 studies published in Google academic, Scielo, Redalyc and Latindex were analyzed. As results of the study, the description of the benefits of early stimulation in correspondence with the needs, skills and abilities in the analyzed stage stands out. In conclusion, it is stated that early stimulation is a process that, carried out by the family and/or professionals, provides notable benefits to the psychomotor development of children during the first two years of life, a complex period with great incidence in said development due to the rapid cerebral maturation that is manifested in the continuous acquisition of skills, which requires attending to the individualities of the child and the environment in which he develops.
