Didactics provides the theoretical, methodological and technical elements for the planning, coordination and evaluation of the teaching-learning process of educational actions. This discipline is applicable in the prevention of different diseases, in which dengue is included. The objective consisted in propose a strategy for the didactic management of the epidemiological approach to dengue by medical students. The didactic strategy within its characteristics included that it is endogenous, viable, flexible, motivating and inclusive. It demands the systematic preparation and creativity of teachers or tutors in the designed learning situations. In addition, it admits the student as the protagonist of the construction of his own knowledge, through the use of active methods in the teaching and awareness process, the second to planning and organization, the third to implementation and finally to evaluation. With the application of the proposed didactic strategy, it will be possible to promote the development of logical and specific skills in future Medicine graduates in relation to the epidemiological approach to dengue. It will represent one more tool for the prevention and control of the disease.
