It offers a synthetic view of the scientific results carried out from the Cienfuegos University, for something more than two decades, in the ecosystem of mountainous Guamuhaya, or Escambray. The objective is to value the experiences, practical and methodological results, showing moments and stages, the diversity of procedures, to build certain theoretical reflections that allow the unfolding of the community sociocultural work and, in function of the management the sustainable development.  It have meant to work with social actors like schools, enterprises, families, productive structure, local governments, Plan Turquino Commission and peoples at human settlements. It concludes that university at the same time intervene in the process for management sustainable development strengthen their activities, enrich their praxis, consolidate their substantive functions which characterized it and are shown the essential contribution at the process.
