Contemporary Higher Education, has among its purposes the training of highly qualified professionals, with responsible exercise and diligence in open spaces for lifelong learning, research, in their work to preserve, disseminate and create a culture that allows the formation and protection of the values ​​of society; which welcomes the work of linking with society as a university process. This article deals with theoretical references and results of the application of an updating course as part of the Teaching Career Plan aimed at strengthening the management skills of teachers in the process of linking with society, which allows implementing practical tools for an adequate performance in the management of programs, projects and actions, in accordance with the regulations of the Metropolitan University of Ecuador; depending on the multiple relationships between the institution and its environment.
