ABSTRACT The objective of the work was aimed at contributing to the updating of teachers and staff in general, working in pre-school education, on the contents of readiness to mathematics, which contribute to meaningful learning. The methodology used in the preparation of the work consisted in the search of updated information on the readiness to mathematics in preschool, through the consultation of periodical publications, thesis and research results. In the development of readiness, the need for teachers to apply methodological and didactic strategies and playful activities is needed. It is summarized that, in the apprenticeship to mathematics is developed, among other forms, through a set of activities and organized experiences, which lead to the development of skills and learning of the first numerical concepts
