During the last 30 years, they have been increased in a dramatic way the number of people with Diabetes in the world, the prevalence in several populations and the number of studies that describe the frequency of this illness in different social and geographical environments. In the University of Cienfuegos an extensive project exists that has as purpose to assume an active list in the promotion of health and to make that, from the educational, cultural and preventive focus, be potential zed stocks with a wide creative spectrum in its diverse expressions that it is good to promote responsible behaviors in the field of the health among the youths, workers and their environment. This educational program on Diabetes, as sociocultural practice, arises starting from the necessity of strengthen the preparation and to improve the quality of the students' life and workers with Diabetes, and it has as end; to form promoters of health for the implementation of promotion stocks and education for health, where the theory and the practice are conjugated and the necessary measures are adopted for the prevention of sharp and chronic complications in the patients with Diabetes Mellitus of the University of Cienfuegos.
