Labor performance and academic performance of the students of the State Technical University of Quevedo, Los Ríos-Ecuador. Conrado [online]. 2019, vol.15, n.69, pp.161-165. Epub 02-Sep-2019. ISSN 2519-7320.
The present investigation determined the work performance and the academic performance of the working student of the State Technical University of Quevedo. As a general objective, it was proposed: to determine the influence exercised by the work performance on the academic performance of the students. A descriptive / transversal analysis was made, corresponding to the 2016-2017 period, multivariable, of a population of 7,901 students. To obtain the sample size (n) of the population studied, a stratified probabilistic sampling design was used, resulting in a sample of 366 students; the strata of the Faculties of the University were considered to analyze the ordinal variable (work performance) and the continuous quantitative variable (notes) the Spearman correlation coefficient, ρ (rho) was applied to measure the correlation (the association or interdependence) between the two random variables. It was established that 24.49% of the students of the UTEQ work with a part-time dedication in 48.4%; it was known that 70.8% and 28.0% of students achieve and master learning. Regarding the effect of the variables of work performance and academic performance, it could be established that there is a weak positive correlation.
