This research is aimed at proposing a didactic model for the development of Education for Peace in the teaching-learning process of the subject Cathedra for Peace in Basic Secondary Education. It is addressed to provide solution to a problem that is present in daily school contexts, so it contributes to improve education practices. Participative action research was used as part of qualitative methodology, which allows a continuing diagnostic, and the use of methods and techniques according to the methodology selected, including individual and group reflection processes that favor decision making related to the conception of the teaching learning process of the subject Cathedra for Peace, and its link to the rest of the areas of the curriculum, taking as basis the demands of the Colombian society and the National System of Education in Colombia. The didactic model was built through an inductive way, taking as starting point five short cycles that are in accordance to the same amount of academic years in which the subject is taught. The results of implementation confirmed the feasibility, neutrality, and auditability that allows the pertinence and scientific value of the proposal in order to introduce changes in education practices in 8th grade at “Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria” School.
