In the present work, the existing theory about the formation and improvement of the early childhood educators graduated in short courses of the municipality of Cienfuegos is systematized, which brought with it the preparation needs of these personnel in exercise for the direction of the process of adaptation of children to children's institutions. On the basis of this problem, the needs for improvement of these educators were determined through the application of different theoretical, empirical and statistical scientific methods. The regularities found are the basis for the design of the proposed improvement program, which considers the integration of the knowledge related to the theoretical methodological aspects that govern the process of adaptation of children to the children's institution, the forms of communication that are specific to these ages and the characteristics of children from early childhood. Finally, the results of the improvement program are validated by experts' criteria, a process through which the pertinence of the proposed subjects was demonstrated to satisfy the graduation needs of the short-term educators to direct the process of adaptation of the children. to the children's institution.
