The purpose of the research was to determine how teachers conduct the learning assessment to identify the skills students acquire during their professional training. A descriptive study with cross-sectional design was carried out. The sample was of 20 professors and 100 students of the Professional School of Secondary Education of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the Daniel Alcides Carrión National University of Peru, in 2018. The results showed that teachers carry out the evaluation of learning through partials permanently, making use of a record of notes, others with the auxiliary register, and the written tests type questionnaire, followed by presentation and delivery of work, and the surveyed students state that 58% achieve the capacities, however there is a need to improve and it is very premature to describe the acquired abilities of the students since the activities carried out to collect and assess the information do not allow to know the programmed capacities and follow up for continuous improvement and thus create an evaluation system.
