The present work intends to study antecedents related to the formation of the responsibility value in the musical education of the secondary school, it is based on the role that education plays in society and the call made by international entities such as the United Nations Organization to Education, Science and Culture. Different theoretical positions are presented with respect to the formation of values through music, in order to highlight the potential of musical education in the formation of responsibility value in adolescent students.Today, the formation of this value acquires great importance independent of the social system, assuming theoretical-practical relevance in the current situation, linked to the existence of the human being and the presence of high levels of economic and technological growth, which far from propitiating benefits and stability, project difficulties to carry out responsible ways of acting and more, in the adolescent stage, so the need to investigate on the subject is recognized, which can only be sustained in the school as a fundamental axis, because education is a central protagonist to train in all fields and educational levels.
