Resumen

FEREZ VERGARA, José Luis  y  CAMACHO DOMINGUEZ, Adriam. Virtual platforms for journalistic learning: a study in the university field of Guayaquil. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.75, pp.15-20.  Epub 02-Ago-2020. ISSN 2519-7320.

Today's world needs educators to be able to integrate with new technological trends such as virtual educational platforms, so that they can integrate into the digital world and be able to interact with students electronically. This article focuses on this problem, the main objective of which is to determine the impact of the use of the virtual platform on the learning of journalism students at universities in Guayaquil. From the methodological point of view, we worked from a quantitative approach with an intentional sample of 271 students from the Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte (136) and the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Campus Guayaquil (135), who were surveyed to evaluate the strategies meta-cognitive and communicative. Among the main results, it was found that students in general do not believe that the virtual platform can replace the traditional way of teaching classes, although it can be seen that they are highly satisfied with the learning obtained through the virtual environments implemented by the college. In general terms, better averages have been obtained with the use of the virtual platform, which should represent better learning, but many of the students surveyed disagree on this point, and this questions the real role of the platform in the academic development of journalism students.
