La tutoría de pares es una forma de organizar el aprendizaje cooperativo. Consiste en formar parejas de estudiantes que tienen relaciones parcialmente asimétricas; uno que orienta y se responsabiliza por enseñar, mientras el otro refuerza su aprendizaje, adquiere nuevos saberes, mejora su adaptabilidad y sus métodos de estudio, con la ayuda de una persona cercana en edad. Las experiencias adquiridas durante varios años de trabajo en dos universidades de países latinoamericanos se exponen en este artículo cuyo objetivo es incentivar a los profesores universitarios a organizar este tipo de tutoría durante la práctica laboral de sus alumnos.

Peer tutoring is a way to organize cooperative learning. It consists of forming pairs of students who have partially asymmetric relationships; one who guides and is responsible for teaching, while the other reinforces his learning, acquires new knowledge, improves his adaptability and his study methods, with the help of a person close in age. The experiences acquired during several years of work in two universities in Latin American countries are exposed in this article whose objective is to encourage university professors to organize this type of tutoring during the work practice of their students.
