El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el nivel de conocimientos teóricos básicos de la asignatura de Seminario de Investigación Científica después de la aplicación de un ambiente virtual de aprendizaje en estudiantes del I ciclo de Maestría de Gestión y Docencia Universitaria del régimen de verano. Se utilizó como muestra un total de 32 estudiantes del I ciclo de maestría de Gestión y Docencia Universitaria y fueron divididos aleatoriamente en dos grupos iguales 18 sujetos como grupo experimental y 18 como grupo control. Se diseñó para el curso un aula virtual bajo el modelo Moodle y al grupo experimental se le proveyeron las herramientas para realizar el curso a través de la misma, dejando al grupo control que realizara el curso de forma tradicional. Se midió el rendimiento de los grupos en función a la calificación promedio al final del curso y el número de proyectos entregados, mediante una prueba t de Student con significancia p < 0,05. Al finalizar el estudio, se concluyó que el grupo experimental tuvo mejor rendimiento, observándose diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre las calificaciones obtenidas al final del curso con un nivel de confianza de 95%.

The objective of the study was to evaluate the level of basic theoretical knowledge of the subject of Scientific Research Seminar after the application of a virtual learning environment in students of the 1st cycle of Master of Management and University Teaching of the summer regime. A total of 32 students from the 1st cycle of Management and University Teaching were used as sample and were randomly divided into two equal groups 18 subjects as an experimental group and 18 as a control group. A virtual classroom was designed for the course under the Moodle model and the experimental group was provided with the tools to carry out the course through it, leaving the control group to carry out the course in a traditional way. The performance of the groups was measured according to the average grade at the end of the course and the number of projects delivered, using a Student's t test with significance p <0.05. At the end of the study, it was concluded that the experimental group had better performance, observing statistically significant differences between the grades obtained at the end of the course with a confidence level of 95%.
