ESTRADA ARAOZ, Edwin Gustavo y MAMANI UCHASARA, Helen Juddy. Social skills and school social environment in basic education students. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.76, pp.135-141. Epub 02-Oct-2020. ISSN 2519-7320.
The main objective of this work was to establish the relation that exists between the social skills and the school social climate of the secondary level students of the public educational institutions of Puerto Maldonado. The research approach was quantitative, the design was non-experimental and the level, correlational. The sample was made up of 363 students from the secondary level of the public educational institutions of the city of Puerto Maldonado to whom two data collection instruments were applied: the Social Skills Assessment List and the School Social Environment Scale. The results indicate that 63.9% of the students present an average level of development of their social skills, 64.5% of the total of students perceive that the school social environment is regular and it was found that the correlation coefficient between social skills and the school social environment is 0.436 with a p-value below the level of significance (p = 0.000 <0.05). It was concluded that there is a moderate, direct and significant correlation between the study variables so that while the secondary level students have higher levels of development of their social skills, the school social environment that is generated will be the most appropriate.
