Local development is a topic of great interest today due to its value and meaning for the economic and social development of the territory, as well as the improvement of the quality of life of the population. However, this must be interpreted globally where the leading actor is development, it is precisely there that the improvement of the school principal can contribute, while its result is reverted to educational quality within the locality where it carries out its professional management activity, together with the educational agents of its community. The objective of this work is to reflect theoretically and methodologically on the contribution of the school director's improvement to local development. Requirements and requirements are required that must be incorporated into the concept of improvement, so that a better performance of the director as a transforming agent is achieved in correspondence with current requirements. Therefore, it is vital to use the networks of institutions connected in its Popular Council, but also join regional, national and international networks in constant exchange. The methods were used: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive and the transition from the abstract to the concrete.
