La dinámica demográfica actual en el mundo y particularmente en Cuba es un logro y también un desafío, desde el punto de vista político, económico, social y compromete a múltiples sectores y profesionales. La Universidad de Personas Mayores es una aportación estratégica que se convierte en un recurso incluyente y creativo. El propósito del trabajo es reflexionar, desde el prisma del bienestar y la participación de las personas mayores matriculados en la Universidad de Cienfuegos, considerando la experiencia de casi 19 años de fundada la Cátedra del Adulto Mayor, sin menospreciar los retos que nos quedan por delante, en materia de articular el desarrollo sostenible con el elevado índice de envejecimiento poblacional.
