University transparency is a key indicator to measure educational quality. University websites contribute to improving the efficiency of transparency, as well as favoring the communication of these institutions with society. This research aims to explore the students' perception of transparency on the Peruvian university website as a current problem. For this, a questionnaire was designed and validated to evaluate the General Transparency Index (IGT). The sample of this research is made up of 234 students from five universities. The IGT obtained is 69.60%, it is also found that the variables age and degree of education are positively correlated with the IGT. The results obtained enrich the theory and practice on transparency on the university website.
