This research is an analysis, discussion and critique of the true understanding of the terms interculturality and multiculturalism, which are widely used and cited in general policies and current Latin American training experiences. The discussion focuses on the specific case of the Peruvian educational policy called "Meeting of Knowledge: TINKUY", which is a coincidence of students of the 6th level of basic education of indigenous peoples and Afro-descendant communities, where the meeting of these and the students of the capital, Lima, for an exchange of experiences, knowledge and school projects. The philosophical difference between the two terms is made, which are understood in different ways, this confusion generates difficulties in the implementation of true intercultural educational policies, assuming it as a bilingual basic education, so that students are educated at the following levels of education in the dominant language.
