Entrepreneurship or independent work is a state policy that has been reinforced through the decades and it is promoted since the Agenda 2030 with the purpose of diminishing the unemployment existing in the economies of low and average incomes, for this it is necessary that the governments help out with a quality education through the praxis of professional competences (general or generic) that might allow the students assume with success in their jobs, they could be either dependent or independent, from there the importance that has this topic for the study done to the students with the last five semesters from the Career of Economy at Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte in Guayaquil, in relationship to the development of general competences in the classrooms and some other settings. The study is Documentary, Bibliographical and Descriptive, developed with the statistical, analytical, synthetically methods among the most important. As technique it was used the survey to value the development of the general competences for the entrepreneurship. The results reflect that the general personal competences are the least developed in the career, among them and in order of importance we have: creativity, abstraction ability, and analysis: decision taking; autonomous learning and motivation. All of these differ from the competences related to the values (appreciation to the social and cultural diversity, which share the first place of the highest development along with the organizational competence (ability for information transmission), followed by ethical and solidary commitment that work as citizen service, service of public vocation and equity.
