This paper is a proposal for a Four Helix system applied in Ecuador, based on a critical analysis of the original Triple Helix system proposed by Etzkowits, where Education, Government and Business are complemented by a fourth helix: international financing for the development of national or mixed projects. For this purpose, a bibliographic review and an analysis of the original Triple Helix System and its evolution were carried out, as well as a possible proposal for improvement based on the incorporation of a fourth helix. Since its origins in 1966, this model has evolved through the criticism of different authors and its application has been adopted internationally as a symbol of economic and social development. The fourth helix is a proposal that gives synergy to the system and allows greater mobility and execution of all the processes it encompasses. In turn, the university will have greater financial autonomy for the development of its projects and will involve the company as a key factor for the development of the country. The idea of this article is not to provide solutions or solve existing problems, but to open the door to all the ideas that may arise along the way as a university, company or government.
