The present essay responds to a descriptive study of the bibliographic review type, systematized through the methods of scientific research, documentary review, analytical-synthetic and hermeneutic. Its objective is to analyze the generalities of educational evaluation, its importance and influence on the quality of the training process. The main findings allow us to conclude that the evaluation is a complex, systemic, and continuous process, it is carried out at the beginning, during and at the end of the process, for which various models, approaches, methods and techniques are used to collect information on the instructional objectives and educational, process it, analyze it and formulate value judgments to make decisions with the purpose of improving the training process; In addition, it helps the teacher to improve teaching strategies, resources and methodologies. The evaluation is not only directed to the students, it is also essential to determine the limitations of the teacher in the theoretical and methodological order, which allows the implementation of training strategies in order to improve their performance and raise the quality of education in the country.
