La incorporación temprana a las actividades agrícolas es el principal obstáculo para que los niños dispongan del tiempo necesario para asistir a la escuela, estudiar y hacer tareas. En este trabajo se presenta la forma en que el tema de los menores migrantes en México se ha incorporado a la agenda pública. Existe una desarticulación entre la política pública del Estado y las necesidades derivadas de la pobreza en las familias de los trabajadores migrantes. La metodología mediante análisis documental, grupos focales con las voces de los jornaleros, padres de familia y maestros de campamentos migrantes, permiten identificar un área de oportunidad en líneas de investigación y estrategias en las universidades para atender a esta población.

The early incorporation to agricultural activities is the main obstacle for children to dispose of the necessary time to attend school, the lack of educational infrastructure and also the permance of cultural customes and norms are also contributing factors. This paper presents the way in which the subject of the under aged migrants in Mexico has been made part of the public agenda. There is disarticulation between the public policy of the State and the needs arising from poverty in migrant workers' families. The methodology through documentary analysis, focus groups with the voices of day laborers, parents and teachers of migrant camps, allow to identify an area of opportunity in lines of research and strategies in universities to serve this population.
