This study seeks to teach how to prevent plastic waste pollution in the Babahoyo canton, as an initial step the National Assembly passed a law for the regulation of single-use plastics in 2019 which helped in a large percentage to reduce pollution due to the rules governing this law. An alternative for the management of plastic waste is recycling, not only in its collection and processing, but also in the cleaning, selection and adequate separation of the materials to be recycled. In the present investigation, it was proposed to carry out educational actions for the care and protection of the environment and soils. The proposed alternatives were analyzed in consultation with experts, using the AHP multi-criteria decision method.
