ACOSTA PADRON, Rodolfo; CALVET VALDES, Nery Isabel  y  ALFONSO HERNANDEZ, José. Methodological procedure for the teaching of English intonation in foreign languages teachers training. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.90, pp. 355-364.  Epub 27-Feb-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.

This article shows a methodological proceeding based on socio-reflexive interaction for the study of the English language intonation from the comprehension and production of message. It answers to the essential role of intonation in the formal and informal use of the language and to the deficiencies detected in the formation of English language teachers in foreign language career at Hermanos Saiz Montes De Oca University in Pinar del Rio. Hence the necessity that the students learn the adequate intonation from first year. For the elaboration of the methodological proceeding there were used the empirical level methods of: documental analysis, inquiry, interview, pre-experimentation, and the group debate and private conversation techniques. Thus, it has been confirmed the effectiveness of the methodological proceeding consisting in task and procedures that highlight the knowledge and the use of intonation. The study results show a learning view of socio-reflexive interaction of intonation, which differ from the current pedagogical practice. The results show the efficiency of the methodological proceeding so long as the results are better than the ones obtained in the diagnosis phase in terms of recognizing and producing intonation. The results have been elaborated under the vision of interactive didactics of languages to which they contribute.
