The process of permanent training of professionals in correspondence with the demands and social demands constitutes a challenge of societies in general and of the current educational systems in particular. The teachers of the General Pedagogical Training discipline of the University of Pinar del Río assume prevention in the educational context among the contents of their subjects, for which limitations have been identified from theoretical and methodological knowledge. The materialist-dialectical method and others of the theoretical level were used as a general method, such as: the historical-logical, analysis and synthesis and the hypothetical deductive. The application of the methods allowed us to verify insufficiencies in the study plans, discipline programs; as well as limitations in the preparation and improvement of teachers on the contents of educational prevention in general and on child labor in particular. The objective of this article is to determine the theoretical-methodological references that support the process of professional improvement in educational prevention of child labor for teachers of the General Pedagogical Training discipline.
