Coordination and play skills are fundamental for the development of motor skills in schoolchildren; strengthening them at an early age generates a good motor performance. The objective is to improve balance in high school students through playful activities in physical education classes at the Punto de Partida school in the city of Loja. The research is pre-experimental with a longitudinal quantitative approach, applied to thirty-eight children between the ages of five and six years old. The results revealed that the application of playful activities during twelve weeks in Physical Education classes improves balance in schoolchildren, since balance is fundamental for daily activities and sports motivation. Therefore, when improving, it was evident that children showed more security and confidence in the development of these activities, which favored the development of dynamic and static balance for their motor benefit.
