SANCHEZ CABEZAS, Patricia; AMAIQUEMA MARQUEZ, Francisco Alejandro; NAVAS JIMENEZ, Dayana  y  MENDIBURU ROJAS, Augusto Franklin. Professional aptitudes of high school students in the educational units of Babahoyo: reflections from the psycometric evaluation. Conrado [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.95, pp. 170-179.  Epub 10-Dic-2023. ISSN 1990-8644.

The preparation of professional life projects begins with the choice of careers that enter the university after completing high school. The basis for these decisions begins with the identification of professional skills, since these constitute the cornerstone of university education, success in professional and work activity, throughout life. From this position, pedagogues, psychologists and human talent specialists warn that the psychometric evaluation of professional aptitudes must be carried out from an early age, which allows guiding decision-making and the elaboration of the future professional life project. However, in educational practice, the psychometric evaluation of professional skills is not used as a dynamic resource for the relevance of psychoeducational influences, although these should be developed with students with the support of specialists and parents for the contribution they can make from university careers to stimulate self-knowledge, self-determination in the face of professional decisions that young people between 15-18 years of age must make. The results of the evaluative research developed with high school students from the Educational Units of the city of Babahoyo, confirmed that there is no relationship between the professional attitudes of the students, the aspirations and expectations of parents and teachers.
