Due to the educational changes in the country, the last years in Iran education has been focus on the development of the human being. The main objectives are to form values, to develop the culture, the creative intelligence, to make a compromise with the society through the study of sciences and the formation of the ethical principles. To achieve this purpose has been applied reforms in the Mathematics teaching -learning process, because of its role among the particular sciences. During the process has been taken in to consideration the improving of the teaching and learning of the functions for their use in the analysis of many process and natural phenomena, as well as in society where functional branches appear. This article shows the importance of education in the Iranian context, as well as the main characteristics of the educational system in The Islamic Republic of Iran. It also appears a historical approach about the development of the teaching of Mathematics and the contribution of Iranian scientists. It reveals the importance of the study of Mathematics and a brief description of the teaching of this science in high schools. The article finally shows the importance of Didactic, a characterization of its components and the treatment of the concept of function from primary to high school.
