Science advances at a dizzying pace and related to the teaching of Music Education can say that there are teaching methods and media that are not opposed to traditional calls, example of this is free software are computer applications that allow a person in a certain area of knowledge, transcend in it, acquiring valuable knowledge and developing various skills. These free software have multiple utilities and benefits that bring the teacher closer to a teaching-learning process that is easier, didactic and with easy applicability. The main objective of this paper is to demonstrate that through the use of information and communication technologies, free software contributes to the development of teaching activities in Universities.
