Knowledge about the transformative actions of young people is essential for generations to come. In this sense, this article reveals the historical development of the educational scientific work of the Youth Technical Brigades (BTJ) in Cuba in the period of 1964-2021. It was based on the materialist dialectic and methods of the theoretical level were used: historical-logical, analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, systematization, to specify the milestones, reveal the transit through the stages of the youth movement and manifest its essence. Among the methods of the empirical level, the interview and the testimony, they were assisted with the techniques: bibliographic filing and content analysis. In each stage, the predominant pedagogical approaches were identified, the legal foundation of the regulations and the assumed contributions of the educational scientific thought of José Martí, Ernesto Che Guevara and Fidel Castro Ruz were analyzed. The educational ideal, the actions of young people and their attention in the work conferences of the brigades were contextualized, according to the economic, political and social conditions. The study favored the understanding of the role of the movement in the formation and training of young Cubans, as a tool to promote the economic and social development of Cuba.
