Resumen
VEGA-GARRIGA, Nicolás. Geological evolution of Cuban archipelago: Genesis of its main regional faults. Min. Geol. [online]. 2020, vol.36, n.2, pp. 172-187. Epub 30-Jun-2020. ISSN 1993-8012.
A model Cuban archipelago geological evolution is presented with the aim of explaining geotectonic contexts main and ages in which main regional faults capable of generating earthquakes today originated. This phenomenon does not seem fully solved in the different geological models consult.
The work was based evaluation the Cuban archipelago petrotectonic associations identified in base on the lithostratigraphic and lithodemic units stratigraphic characteristics described in the local, regional geological surveys reflected in the geological maps and regulated in the 2013 Cuban Stratigraphy’s Lexicon; and its correspondence with the geotectonic contexts, petrotectonic associations, stages and phases established in the Wilson Cycle.
