Improving inclusion at different educational levels is the basis of quality education. This article is based on the identification of difficulties in the inclusion and participation of students with intellectual disabilities in Physical Education classes, so it is proposed as an objective to design a system of inclusive recreational activities for students with intellectual disabilities of Higher Basic Education, in the Physical Education class of the Educational Unit "Adolfo María Astudillo", city of Babahoyo, Ecuador, in the school year 2022-2023. For this purpose, theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, modeling and structural-functional systemic were applied. The empirical methods used were document analysis, observation and survey, which made possible the adjustment of the sample formed by 2 students with intellectual disabilities and 4 teachers for a purposive sampling. The processed information showed that students with intellectual disabilities are not included in Physical Education classes and teachers have limitations in the curricular adaptations that facilitate their inclusion. The main result of the article is a system of inclusive recreational activities whose design proposes actions to help acquire fundamental physical skills, keeping an optimal state of health, achieving emotional well-being, reducing stress and promoting social inclusion.
