Methods:

Descriptive quantitative-qualitative research. The historical-logical method was followed, supported by the documentary review technique. The daily reports published by the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, corresponding to the days between July 1 and 31, 2021, were reviewed. Tables and graphs were prepared.

Results:

All provinces presented infections, with a notable increase from January 2021 onwards. Surveillance with PCR of suspects and contacts was maintained. There was an increase in mortality and greater involvement of children and young people.

Conclusions:

July 2021 was the month with the worst indicators. Diagnostic tests and molecular biology laboratories increased significantly. Control measures were implemented according to the severity of the situation in each territory. Disease care protocols were periodically updated. Vaccination of the population was initiated.
