NORIEGA BRAVO, Vivian de las Mercedes; AROCHA MERINO, Carmen  y  PEREZ DIAZ, Teresa de la Caridad. An experience of blended learning in the field of health organisation and management. Infodir [online]. 2023, n.42  Epub 16-Jun-2024. ISSN 1996-3521.

Introduction:

The epidemiological contingency caused by COVID-19 and the sanitary control measures put in place raised innumerable challenges. In the field of education, changes in educational strategies were promoted; mediated, in essence, by information and communication technologies.

Objective:

To present the experiences during the preparation and implementation of the Basic Management course in the speciality of Health Organisation and Administration, between February and June 2021.

Methods:

A review was carried out of the literature available on the Internet on the blended learning modality, the virtualisation of the teaching-learning process and its use as an alternative to provide continuity to the course during the pandemic. Likewise, information contained in the current syllabus for the speciality of Health Organisation and Administration and the activity reports of the Basic Management course, 2020 edition.

Positioning:

The structure, teaching strategy and other elements of the Study Programme of this speciality are reviewed; the considerations that constituted the premises for the temporary reorganisation in the blended learning modality of the aforementioned course are described and the dynamics followed in one of the face-to-face meetings are detailed.

Conclusions:

The innovations in terms of methods, media and didactic strategies introduced in the Basic Management course ensured the permanence of the students in the teaching-educational process despite the epidemiological situation and the creation of a scenario similar to the manager's usual work context. Likewise, advantageous results were achieved in the resident's performance and the fulfilment of the declared teaching objectives.
