Abstract

RODRIGUEZ LOPEZ, Yakelin; MARRERO DE LEON, Norberto  and  GIL URRUTIA, Laura. Rainfall-runoff model for Reno´s river basin. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2010, vol.19, n.2, pp.31-37. ISSN 2071-0054.

The possibility to have models reproducing the behavior of hydrographical basins due to the occurrence of intense rains which could cause flooding is very important to predict damages over the area under study, for example, in the agricultural sector. In this study, a semidistribuited rain - runoff model was created to be applied for maximun events in the river Reno basin, located in the Emilia Romagna region, Italy. To do such a study a GIS (ArcView v.3.3) and its Hec-GeoHMS extension, together with the Hec-HMS software, were used in the basin hydrological simulation. The obtained model is able to reproduce independent maximum events for peak flows greater than 350 m3/s and errors below 10%.

Keywords : flow; Hec-HMS; ArcView; error; damages.
