Resumen

VALDES HERNANDEZ, Pedro A; MARTINEZ RODRIGUEZ, Arturo; VALENCIA OROZCO, Yoanis  y  BRITO DIAZ, Enrique. Influence of drum inertia moment and different constant feeding angle on the size of particles of forage processed with hand feeding drum type forage choppers. Part I. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2010, vol.19, n.3, pp.53-56. ISSN 2071-0054.

The research present as objective to determine the influence of moment of inertia of the chopper drum and different constant angles of feeding on the particle size of thick stem forage processed by drum type forage chopper machines with unforced feeding. The research applies mathematical-physical modeling of the technological process; the results are taken as the basis for design experiments conducted during the processing of sugar cane stems variety C323-68, being the most widely used in Cuba during cattle feeding. The mathematical modeling allows the prediction of the particle size with errors no greater than 15.3%, with a significance level of 1% for rational values of the moment of inertia of the drum, theoretically calculated. The rationalization of the drum moment of inertia in the domestic production forage chopper MF- IIMA EM-01, representing an increase of particle size quality, manifested in a greater percentage of particles with sizes below 20 mm (43 to 48%).Theoretical modeling results a valuable tool, enabling the improvement of the design of this type of forage chopper.

Palabras clave : forage choppers; quality of work; moment of inertia.
